EvK2CNR installed three Automatic Weather Stations on Gulkin, Passu and Shishper glaciers from 24-29 August,2022 under the project \u201cGlaciers and Students\u201d. The project is implemented by EvK2CNR executed by UNDP and funded by AICS.
\nBefore the installation of weather stations, a training was given to the students, faculty of KIU and EPA personnel at KIU. The training covered an introduction about the automatic weather stations installation process,data collection and maintenance of the AWSs. This training was arranged under the facilitation of Dr.Davide Fugazza and Arianna Crosta from Milan University. Furthermore, on-site training was given on the glaciers during the installation of weather stations.
\n These weather stations will help to cope with the challenges of climate change collecting data on several parameters. It will be collected by EPA and local institutions to be used for scientific studies and to reach more practical recommendations in dealing with the menaces of climate change. These weather stations will aid in the detection of different environmental variables such as air and soil temperature,soil moisture, solar radiation,wind speed and direction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
