With all due respect, it is stated that being a book enthusiast, it has always been a pleasing sight for me to look at people reading books and getting excited to visit libraries specially children. But unfortunately this trend is decreasing in our society with every passing day. The dilemma of our present generation is that we have engrossed technology in the lives of our little ones to such an extent that they would rather play games on their tablets than read an informative health article. The schools we went to at our age were genuinely interested in the development of a literary mind among their students but the schools of today do nothing but acknowledge rot learning, which an absolute disaster is keeping in mind our already low literacy rate.<\/p>\n
And kit is not only the kids and children of this age. How often do you see an adult reading a book these days or going to libraries to find a book on the topic of their choice? These adults would spend thousands on branded clothes but would not be interested in purchasing a book worth a few hundreds.<\/p>\n
Children adopt the habits of their elders and when they see their parents and elder siblings competing for a higher score in Candy Crush, obviously that is what they will do. The only book they see their elders interested in is Face book. Why are we complaining about their character and premature learning when we are the root cause of in the first place?<\/p>\n
This problem can only be overcome if us being the parents and elder siblings develop reading habits in ourselves because once we do so, our children and siblings will get influenced and will start copying us. The children of today are the architects, doctors, teachers, scholars and philosophers of tomorrow and if we don\u2019t contribute in developing reading habits in them, I dread the day when no one would be interested in reading anymore and these books we hold so close to our hearts will one day become a mere contribution among our prestigious showcases no one dares to touch.<\/p>\n
