PPP in action: Core committee voices concern over change of voting system

GILGIT:  Core committee of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday held a meeting to discuss the situation emerged after recent floods and government’s decision to change voting method for G-B Council elections.

The meeting, held at Danish House, was attended besides party president Amjad Hussain, Sadia Danish, Jamil Ahmed, Imran Nadeem, Bashir Ahmad, and Engineer Ismail.

“PPP raised concerns over the change of voting method for GB council and vowed to resist any changes that negate the rule of the law,” said Danish, who was minister information in the previous government.

In the aftermath of rain destructions, PPP is committed to reach to affected areas and do as much as they can in personal capacity, she added.

The PPP decided to strengthen ties with people to address their grievances. The party further assured that they will reach areas where they couldn’t reach so far. Peoples Party feels the pain of people of GB and will stand by th effected people.
In the pevious days after floods, the leadership of PPP visited Bargo, Sharot, Shikiot and sherqila, besides Naltar Paeen where floods have devastated normal life, homes, infrastructure and crops. The leaders visited all the homes and distributed relief to effected families.
