Gilgit-Baltistan will be self-sufficient withregard to vegetables in future: Donald Brown

GILGIT: (Mountain Pass) Gilgit-Baltistan will be self-sufficient with regard to vegetables in the future.  Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Fatty Das Irrigation and Land Development Project in Sher Qila, Associate Vice President of IFAD  Donald Brown expressed these views.  Is making  The ETI team deserves to be congratulated in this regard, who, through public partnerships, have successfully completed the projects.  When I come back three years later, these barren lands will be green and people will be benefiting from these lands.  Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Khurram Agha said that the ETI project is impossible without public participation, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have made it a success by contributing to the program.  Thousands of families will benefit from this program in the future.  Earlier, the three-member mission of the International Fund for Agriculture Development also visited Danyore and Vertical farming program Oshkhandas, a Momo dairy processing unit operated by ETI.  On this occasion, we also had meetings with farmers and the community. During the visit of the planners, ETI official also briefed the mission.  IFAD Mission is also inaugurating various ETI projects during the two-day visit.  The mission is accompanied by NigelBrad, director of Asia and Pacific, and Country Director Hobart Boyard. Various projects of agriculture and public economic development are underway in Gilgit-Baltistan in collaboration with the International Fund for AgricultureDevelopment.
