GB Pride has successfully celebrated Independence day of Gilgit Baltistan with the theme
۔ ہماری آزادی اور طلبا کے رویے
at KIU Gilgit campus. There was a speech and National Songs competition between students of KIU and Fatima Jinnah Women Degree College Gilgit.
Vice Chancellor KIU Mr. Dr. Atta ullah shah chaired the event. Dr. Ramazan, Dr. Tasawar baig, Dr. Sadia baig, Dr. Memoona (head of KIU Ghizar Campus), Dr. Shah Nawaz( head of KIU Diamer campus), Dr. Rehmat (head of KIU Hunza campus), Mr. Ziaullah shah, Mr. Mushtaq and Ms. Benizer were prominent figures of the event. Total twenty students participated in the event. There was a crowd of 300 student in the event.
Ms. Ghazala in her speech paid tribute to the martyrs and heroes of 1947/48 war. She also emphasized on positive thinking and utilization of young energies for better future of our homeland.
Mr. Dr. Attaullah shah, address the event with the hope that students will change their behaviors according to the sacrifices of their forefathers.

Ms. Saman younas from Degree college women won first prize (Laptop)
Ms. Naima Jan from Degree college women won 2nd prize (Laptop)
Ms. Maryam Mehmood from KIU won 3rd prize (mini Laptop)
Mr. Iqbal Nasir remind 4th(set of books)
Position holders for National Song competition as below
Ms. Irum Parvaiz from Degree college women won first prize (certificate and Shield)
Ms. Sania Ali & group from KIU(certificate and Shield)
Ms. Anila Hayat and Party from KIU(certificate and Shield)
