A two-day training workshop on Fragile Heritage Framework Training workshop was conducted in Gilgit

GILGIT: (Mountain Pass) A two-day training workshop on Fragile Heritage Framework Training workshop was conducted in Gilgit on 19th and 20th of November 2021 focused on the effects of climate change on heritage landscapes.
It was hosted by Laajverd (an organisation working on culture and heritage) under the Project Fragile Heritage Ecologies based on the effects of climate change on tangible and intangible heritage. The director Laajverd, Dr. Zahra Hussain who is an architect and cultural geographer conducted this workshop. She has worked on mountain communities since the last 8 years and has drafted the Mountain Architecture Guidelines for Sustainable Tourism development. The workshop was attended by 40 Professionals from diferent Govt departments, LSO’s and Local Organizations. Participants from Gilgit, Skardu, Kharmang, Shigar, Ganche, Ghizer, Yasin, Gojal, Gulmit, Diamer and Kalash with both male and female participation. The workshop facilitated exchange between participants about effects of climate change on their local landscapes and Heritage and produced a policy document from the research done and recommendations shared by the local stakeholders.
